In 2008, Adam started Arbour Realty to provide people with a better choice when it comes to buying & selling their homes. It started with putting together a group professionals that believe in the same mission and developing a culture that encourages fresh ideas. For example, they were the first real estate firm to go paperless with all real estate contracts. A move that saves paper, reduces driving and makes the contract process far more convenient for our clients.
In 2013 & 2014, Adam was voted one of the best Realtors by the readers of Arlington Magazine. In 2009 he received the same honor from Washington City Paper. With over 10,000 realtors in the area, he is honored to be considered one of the best.
Adam also finds it important to give back to the real estate community. He was the previous Chairman of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR) Green Task Force. Currently he is serving as co-chairman of the Small Broker Forum. In his various roles, he places an emphasis on educating his fellow Realtors.
Adam grew up in Northern Virginia and spent several years in California after graduating from JMU. That’s where he added surfing to the list of things he enjoys the most. He feels lucky to live in an area where he can take a short drive to the beach and mountains or walk up the street to a favorite restaurant.

After moving from Hawaii in grade school, Sonia has lived throughout Fairfax and Arlington Counties. With some encouragement from Adam… she began her career in Real Estate at family owned and local Arbour Realty in 2007.
Sonia started off her real estate career specializing in home sales as an EcoBroker. After realizing her penchant and keen eye for design, she became a certified home stager and was able to help Arbour Realty clients understand the importance of having a home “show perfect.” Beyond Sonia’s artistic eye is a fantastic attention to detail. Sonia is also responsible for facilitating all Real Estate Owned transactions from conducting all interactions with the property owner and the banks’ asset managers to project coordination with multiple subcontractors. There is no one you would rather have managing your transaction whether you are a buyer or seller from the transaction and business side.
One of the many benefits of working with Arbour Realty is that our clients know that they are going to get an honest opinion 100% of the time with Sonia and they seem to love that about her. All the while, their transaction will be made to look effortless as she handles every aspect of the business efficiently, effectively and with great respect.

You know you are bound to become a realtor when you drive around looking at houses and wandering into open houses for fun. Katie Silverthorne Hayes was one of those people, who found that her love for real estate would lure her into a fun and exciting career where she would be able to get excited about the process, right along side her clients.
Driven to succeed, Katie spent all four years of university playing for William & Mary’s Division 1 AAA Field Hockey Team. While there, she helped lead her team to their 1st Sweet Sixteen trip in school history and a high 7th in the Nation Team Ranking. She was awarded CAA Player of the Week, CAA All-Tournament Team, North/South Senior All-Star, All CAA, VASID All-State, and Regional All-American. Being a part of a team and helping others achieve their goals is something Katie understands all too well. This team spirit rang true when it came time to choose her career path. Katie had no doubt that being in real estate was what she was set out to do after graduating with a degree in public policy and ultimately beginning her career in the mortgage banking industry. She loved working in mortgages, but found that she was drawn to the real estate process and being able to work so closely with her clients to help them achieve their goals. Her innate devotion to “her team” extends into all she does.Armed with her strong financial background and intimate knowledge of the Northern Virginia area, Katie gives her clients the extra edge they need from a realtor in the Fairfax area. Katie has lived in Fairfax for her whole life, aside from her time away at university; she knows the area backwards and forwards which is a fantastic bonus for her clients. Her strong ties and sense of community run deep; Katie graduated from a local high school and has coached area junior hockey with 7th and 8th graders.
Patience, hard work, creativity and an unassuming nature lead Katie with her clients. Katie’s quite confidence and professionalism shine through all of her work as she goes above and beyond for her clients to get the job done.
Katie completed the qualifications necessary to become a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), which puts her in the upper echelon of Realtors when it comes to helping home owners and home buyers with short sales. Family, friends, fun! These are all the wonderful opportunities and experiences Amber has had since moving to Northern Virginia 10 years ago from North Carolina. But growing up and all through her life, Amber's passion has always been homes.
She graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Architectural Drafting and Design and a minor in business and immediately after graduation moved to NoVA to work at one of the nation’s top 10 builders designing and drafting homes for the mid-Atlantic region. She has 10 years’ experience in the home building industry and has seen all the trends over the past decade. She has the insight and behind-the-scenes knowledge needed in today's market to help identify what is selling and what needs updating in everything from kitchen design to innovative and green design. Amber worked closely with builders, contractors and purchasers to make sure all her designs, especially green building designs, were cost and energy efficient. So Amber knows what to look for and the resources needed to help clients when it comes to green, climate controlled, and energy efficient homes.
Amber originally moved to Chantilly and has since lived in Fairfax, Vienna, Falls Church City, Arlington and finally Falls Church where she is a happy home owner. She bought her home with Arbour Realty and had wonderful experience. She knows how important it is to find a home to fit your family’s lifestyle and the resources to great neighborhoods where growing families can have everything from fun and free play structures, to schools, parks and walkable neighborhoods.
