There is  a lot to love about life and real estate in Reston VA.  This planned community was founded to combine living, working and playing within an accessible community.  It was originally thought that residents of Reston should be able to walk to work, stores and schools.  Reston’s sense of being connected is facilitated by trails laced throughout town.  Nestled conveniently between Dulles airport and Tysons Corner while only 20 miles from Washington DC, commuting outside of Reston is equally convenient.

Reston is known for an abundance of parkland and recreational facilities.  In fact, there are over 1,300 acres of open parkland, 15 outdoor swimming pools, 49 tennis courts and four lakes available to the community.

At the center of Reston is the Reston Town Center.  This lovely outdoor mall has evolved into THE place to go for dining, nightlife, shopping, outdoor concerts and outdoor ice skating.  The Reston Town Center has also started attracting some of the coolest condominiums in Northern Virginia.  Residents can walk out their door and enjoy all the amenities that the town center has to offer.

Real estate in Reston has its own charm.  As you drive through neighborhoods in the summertime you are shaded by large mature trees.  It is a place where architects have been given the freedom to exercise their unique expressions.  Reston homes are known for having a contemporary edge;  many homes seem to be built to integrate with nature rather than the other way around.

The long awaited definitive plan to bring the metro rail through Reston, all the way out to Dulles airport has arrived.  This will undoubtedly improve the convenience for commuters and is likely to positively affect home values in Reston.
