Smartphone Apps For Homebuyers

There are countless smartphone apps that can help you during the home buying or selling process.  I want to share a few FREE apps that are my new favorites.

Sitegeist – Asitegeists a real estate agent I am always a little hamstrung when a client asks about demographics.  Because of Fair Housing Laws, I’m not able to comment on this subject.  With Sitegeist you can look up demographic information on your own based on your GPS coordinates.

Other helpful information you can find on Sitegeist:

  • Age Distribution
  • Political Contributions
  • Average Rent
  • Popular Local Spots
  • Recommended Restaurants
  • How People Commute
  • Record Temperatures
  • Housing Units Over Time

Homesnap– Next time you are out and see a home that interests you, simply snap a photo of it using Housesnap.  You will be provided with information such as the year built, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, estimated value, square footage, lot size, last sold amount, appreciate potential, etc.

If the home is on the market, you will be able to find out more about the listing and view photos.  You can also share information about homes you find, with your agent.

Walkscore – We’ve been loving Walkscore for years.  It provides a score from 1-100 based on the walkability of a particular location.  It also provides insight on the local transportation options, dining, shopping and other neighborhood gems.  Now you can take Walkscore with you as a smartphone app.

ArbourMobile – If you like the home search tool on our website, you will love our new mobile app.  It allows you to search for homes by criteria you enter or by using your GPS coordinates to find homes for sale nearby.  It’s easy to use and packed with helpful information.  Simply enter ArbourMobile.com into our phone’s browser.  Then be sure to bookmark it.
