Thanksgiving 2012 Turkey Trot Events in Northern VA & DC

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.  I love turkey, ham, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole; well I think
you get the picture and the idea that I am a big fan of this holiday. But have you ever noticed all the work that goes into something that is consumed in about 30 minutes or less, and then what a mess to be cleaned up.  After all, Thanksgiving is a holiday, and I thought holidays involved rest and relaxation, but come Friday morning when you go back to work, you will be in need of another day off.  This year I want to enjoy the food, wine and day off,  but without the cooking and cleaning.

Solution

I decided this Thanksgiving to get all my friends and family together and go out for dinner, when you breakdown the cost associated with the food, drink, snacks, and energy used preparing the Thanksgiving feast, it is probably about the same price to let someone else cater Thanksgiving for you and your family, but I know what you are saying,  “where to go on Thanksgiving in Arlington VA or surrounding areas”, and “what restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving in Northern Virginia”?
