If you would like to maximize your quality of life with condo living, these are the top places to live along the Orange Line in Arlington.  My list is updated for 2011 and includes some new-comers to the list.  There were some tough choices to make, but I feel this list represents the best-of-the-best that the Arlington Orange Line has to offer.

Note: the following list is for 2011.  Use this link if you would like the 2012 list.

The-Odyssey-Condo-in-Arling10) The Odyssey Condominium – Courthouse Metro Station

The Odyssey offers wonderful views of DC with top notch amenities.  I prefer the Platinum Penthouse Suites, which include premium finishes throughout the kitchen, baths and living area.  Some also feature extraordinary terraces to enjoy your priceless view from.  The Odyssey is located along the orange line just a few short blocks from Courthouse metro.  See what’s available at The Odyssey today.

9) The Phoenix at Clarendon Station – Clarendon Metro Station

The Phoenix is one of the newest condominiums to be added to the orange line in Arlington.  Located in the heat of Clarendon at the doorstep of Arlington’s social scene.  The Phoenix does not compromise on amenities.  In addition to a 24×7 concierge, state-of-the-art fitness center and outdoor pool, it includes a private screening room for Phoenix residents.  The homes come standard with hardwood floors, granite and modern stainless steel appliances.  See what’s available at The Phoenix today.

Ballston-VA-Condos 8) Residences at Liberty Center – Ballston Metro Station

Liberty Center is the premier condo in Ballston.  Rising above the skyline, the upper level units at Liberty Center have surprising views of DC.  Ballston is rapidly improving with better restaurants and nightlife.  The Ballston BID should attract better retail shopping options as well.  Liberty Center provides luxury finishes and amenities at a reasonable price point.  See what’s available at Liberty Center today.

7) Clarendon 1021 – Clarendon Metro Station

Clarendon 1021 has long been an Arlington favorite.  Just watch how quickly Clarendon 1021 listings are sold.  You get a full array of amenities with one of the lowest condo fees in town.  You are also conveniently located along the Orange Line within blocks of Clarendon Metro Station.  See what’s available at Clarendon 1021 today.

6)Waterview Condominium – Rosslyn Metro Station

The name says it all.  Waterview condominium earns one of the highest costs per square foot in Arlington, by boasting the best views in the entire DC area.  Residents enjoy panoramic views spanning from Georgetown along the Potomac river with a clear line-of-sight to many popular monuments.  The lower floors of the building are owned by Hotel Palomar.  Room service anyone?

5) Turnberry Towers – Rosslyn Metro Station

Not only is Turnberry Towers the new standard for luxury in Arlington, but it is also the first LEED certified condominium in town.  If the other condos in Arlington seem like hard living, then Turnberry Towers is for you.  A team of staff are there at your beck and call.  Valet parking.  Elevators that open to your individual condo.  Indoor pool.  Spa services.  Located in Rosslyn at the doorstep of Georgetown.  See what’s available at Turnberry Towers today.

Rhodes-Hill-Square-in-Arlin4) Rhodes Hill Square – Courthouse Metro Station

Rhodes Hill Square and Turnberry Towers are the only two condominiums on the list that are still selling brand new units.  I like Rhodes Hill Square for the generous square footage, ridiculously low condo fee and Courthouse location.  The two-story “city homes” make an interesting option and lead the Orange Line with some of the lowest costs per square foot.  See what’s available at Rhodes Hill Square today.

3) Clarendon 3131 – Clarendon Metro Station

If one of these hits the market, jump on it!  Even during a slow market, this building sold out in weeks.  This boutique condo tucked away on the outskirts of Clarendon is treasure.  The builder of Clarendon 3131 did an amazing job of building a quality condominium.  Every unit in the building comes with 2 bedrooms + a den and is very generous on square footage.  There are not many building amenities, but you the condo fees are low and you live in Clarendon.

2) Station Square – Clarendon Metro Station

Station Square is a great all-around condo.  You get amenities, low condo fees, modern finishes and an amazing location.  No other condo gets you closer to the Clarendon Metro Station and Mercer and Wooster Loftsthe best restaurants, nightlife and shopping Arlington has to offer.  My favorite units come with high ceilings and exposed duct work to provide a subtle loft feel. See what’s available at Station Square today.

1) Wooster & Mercer Lofts – Courthouse & Rosslyn Metro Stations

Still at the top of our list is Wooster & Mercer lofts.  It appears the only challenger in site could be a new condominium that Abdo Development is breaking ground on called Gaslight Square also located between Rosslyn and Courthouse metro stations.  Wooster & Mercer lofts provide huge open spaces with rustic touches and well chosen luxury finishes.  Outdoor space was not forgotten with extra large terraces available.  You get low condo fees with state-of-the-art amenities, but you will have to live without a front door person.  See what’s available at Wooster & Mercer Lofts today.
