Compost Cab Now Picking Up In Arlington Virginia

Composting is a great way to turn your organic household waste into nutritious garden fertilizer. Composting reduces the amount of garbage that is unnecessarily transported to our landfill sites every year, which in turn reduces damaging greenhouse gases.  I love the Compost Cabconcept of composting but living in a Condo in Courthouse Arlington, I feel a little restricted by space.  Thankfully through a friend, I heard about a new company in the Northern Virginia area called Compost Cab.

Compost Cab allows anyone to compost their organic waste, whether you are a condo owner, home owner, business or restaurant.  Depending on your organic waste production, Compost Cab deliver a compost bin which fits your need.  During the week you store your organic waste in the compost bin and then they collect it 1 week later. Just in case, like me you were wondering about the bad smells and leakage, Compost Cab have taken that into consideration and the compost container are leak and odor proof.

The organic waste you generate is then delivered to a local urban farm for composting.  After you donate 90 pounds of organic waste, you are eligible for your free 5 pounds of fresh compost and 1 pound of worm castings, a magical combination for your garden.  Don’t worry if you have no need for the compost, Compost Cab are happy to donate the compost to ECO, their local, not-for-profit urban farm partner, who will then use it to grow more food for the community.  Compost Cab offers this composting service for $8 a month and you are not required to sign up for any long-term commitments.
