Future Rosslyn Real Estate!
Now the summer is upon us, and I have chosen to live virtually car free, I find myself walking everywhere. When you walk, you notice all the details you miss when riding in the car. One thing I have noticed is the abundant construction in the Arlington neighborhoods. The most prevalent is in Clarendon Virginia, between Wilson and Clarendon Blvd opposite the Clarendon Metro station. The Waverly is located in Clarendon at 1200 N. Irving St., Arlington VA and this building will be made up of residential and retail space.
Rosslyn Virginia also has its fair share of upcoming development. But unlike Clarendon Virginia, Rosslyn is home to high-rise buildings. The new wave of building projects in Rosslyn are no different, 1812 N MOORE ST & Central Place on 1801 N LYNN ST will both be high-rise buildings. The building on 1812 N Moore St will be made up of 11,020 square feet of Retail and 569,739 square feet of office. The future development on 1812 N Moore St is adjacent to Rosslyn Metro, which is on the Orange and Blue Metroline, and the last stop before the District of Columbia. Rosslyn Metro station is the 2nd most utilized metro station the Metropolitan area, and makes Rosslyn a great neighborhood to live, work and play with easy access into D.C. In keeping with Arlington County’s green commitment, 1812 N Moore Street thirty-five-story office building will be constructed to a Platinum-LEED level, the highest certification offered by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
Central Place on 1801 N Lynn Street, which is in very close proximity to the 1812 N Moore Street, causes excitement to those seeking real estate in Rosslyn. Central Place will be a 30+ story building made up of 350 residential units, 570,549 square feet of office space and 44,554 square feet of retail. Both buildings offer plentiful retail space, so expect to see some exciting future dining opportunities in Rosslyn Virginia to add to the existing Rosslyn restaurants including, Café Asia, Red Hot & Blue, Ray’s Hell Burger, and Piola to name a few.
A couple of other Rosslyn developments that is worth talking about, especially for those of you who are looking to buy in Rosslyn Virginia, would be Rosslyn Commons II and Rosslyn Commons Townhomes. Rosslyn Commons development is located on 1500 Clarendon Blvd, and will be made up of 25 four story Townhomes, and two high-rise apartments. The development also includes at least 10,000 square feet of retail and a mid-block pedestrian plaza, breaking up the super-block between Clarendon Blvd. and 16th Road North. Public access for pedestrians is provided via the open space of the mid-block plaza, through the block’s landscaped internal courtyard to 16th Road North. Retail and cafe-type tenants are expected to fill the
ground floor space surrounding the central plaza. Check out our blog site for future upcoming developments, events in Arlington VA.

when Arlington county says there are to be residential units at Central Place or the 1900 Wilson Blvd development–are they talking about apartments or condos? Is there a way to find out? It really is hard to keep up even after the boom the development continues. I didn't know there was anywhere to build on the east side of Mercer and Wooster lofts but I do recall the large area for modern townhouses just west of that condo and I think it is owned by Abdo–that would be the 1700 block. I wonder what is going on there???
Jay, thanks for the comment. At this point I don’t think a final decision has been made as to whether they will be rental apartments or condos at Central Place and 1900 Wilson. That decision will largely be determined by the housing market in Arlington. I have had a conversation with Jim Abdo about the land you are referring to on Clarendon Blvd. Those are planned to be multi-level condominiums that will resemble row homes from the outside. I believe the buildings are only going to reach 4-levels. Hopefully they will get started soon…. his developments are always a huge hit.
