With this thinking in mind and there constant commitment to the environment, Arlington County have created a programWalk Arlington called WalkArlington, which is designed to promote health, environmental, commuter, financial, and community benefits of walking.

The WalkArlington website has information for parents and kids walking to and from Arlington Schools, providing valuable information to ensure safe routes.

If you enjoy walking like I do ,then there is also a section that includes routes and maps for planned walks in and around Arlington VA neighborhoods.

WalkArlington can put you in touch with other Arlington VA residents who share a passion for walking by joining the Arlington walking groups.  Arlington County strives to continue with their green commitment, and is dedicated to achieving the goal of transforming Arlington into a walkable community, where goods and services and other needs are located close to one another and to residences and workers, and where walking is simply the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable way to get around.
