The economic stimulus bill passed earlier this year will be awarding cash rebates for upgrading your old energy guzzling home appliances later Fridgethis year. During this economic recession may people are opting to repair old appliances rather than trading them in for a newer more energy efficient model. The old appliances use unnecessarily high amounts of electricity and water, which creates large amounts of harmful green house gases and also results in high utility bills.

The cash for refrigerators and other household appliances, will give people the opportunity to purchase a newer energy efficient appliance.  The benefit will be both to the home owner with lower energy bills and to the environment by reducing the amount of destroying emissions produced.  The rebates will be between $50- $200, and with possible further discounts as home appliance companies try to gain more business in an ever dwindling market.  No all appliances will qualify, and only ones that are covered by the Energy Star seal will be included in this rebate campaign. Click on the following link to read more about energy star approved appliances.

If you have an old appliance which is on it way out, consider taking advantage of this rebate campaign, the initial outlay maybe more than having the appliance fixed, but the long term savings in terms of the energy you will save and the not having to it repair again in the future will definitely offset.
