E-waste, otherwise known as electronic waste, is being produced at a rapid rate. E-waste is created from cell phones, computers, fax machine,e-waste most anything electronic. The problem is that the more gadgets available on the market, and the rising need for consumers to keep up with modern technology, equals more E-waste.  E-waste creates chemicals that are not only harmful to human health but also the environment.

A process which started in Hong Kong is now able to recycle E-waste and turn it into gold and other precious metal. In fact there are many precious metals inside your electronic gadgets, you would be surprised.  Take the back off your cell phone and the cell phone battery alone contains gold, and other valuable metals.  Gold, Silver, copper, nickel, zinc and lead can be found in most electronic items.

E-waste recycling centers are able to produce as much gold as a small Gold-Mine. This is impressive, and in the process they are recycling your unwanted electronic items in a manner that is not only friendly to the environment but also to your health. Next time you replace your out-dated electronic items, look for a way to recycle it in an environmentally friendly manner. Recycling your old cell phone can be done through the Arbour Realty Ballston Office, click here for directions

Please comment with the location of any other known E-waste recycling facilities in the Arlington and Northern Virginia area.
