As I drive along Lee Highway in Arlington Virginia, I continue to be amazed to see the derelict Brompton’s condo building, it brings to mind Bromptonsa destitute neighborhood, not the highly sort after area of Clarendon. I have been wondering for years what is happening with this half complete condo building. I can only imagine what the residents in the Townhomes at Cherrydale must think.

Today I read this interesting article on the Arlington County’s webpage, which summarizes the future of this monstrosity.  Arlington County have ordered the owner of the mixed townhouse-condominium project to either repair and complete the build adhering to the set county codes or to pay for the building to be demolished.

The Condo building at the Bromtons has stood unfinished since March 2006.  There has been court orders and extensions filed by the owner in this time, but now there is a final set time frame by Arlington County for the building to be either completed or demolished.  Hopefully the building will be finished and not demolished as this would be a huge waste of natural resources, not including the waste of energy used during construction & demolishing.  I look forward to seeing the completion of the Bromptons Condos at Cherrydale, Arlington.
