Rain barrels can be placed under the a downspout to catch rainwater. Using the rainwater for gardening needs saves on energy costs and can also prevent basement flooding. Using a Rain Barrel allows you to decide where the water is directed and put to the best use. Book your place on the Rain barrel workshop today, and take the opportunity to build something that will help future generations. At the Rain barrel workshop you will also get the chance to meet and get to know like-minded environmentally focused citizens.
Rain barrel workshop schedule:
· Saturday, April 25th, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 16th St. South, Arlington, VA 22204. FULL
· Saturday, May 16th, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. North Hills Pavilion, 1325 North Village Road, Reston, VA 20194.
If your not adventurous enough or have certain time constraints to build your own Rain barrel, no worries, Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment also offer the option to purchase a pre-made barrel for around $62.
