October Sales Tax Holiday normally makes me think about clothing, back to school items but not normally environmentally friendly 
products. Well that is exactly what this October Sales Tax Holiday covers, this October Sales Tax holiday features tax exemption on Energy Star and WaterSense Qualified Products.
If you are thinking of upgrading or replacing appliances in your home, the upcoming Columbus Day Holiday weekend is the time to get out there and make the purchase. People living in Northern Virginia will be exempt from paying the 5% Virginia state tax on certain Energy Star and WaterSense qualified products.
The Virginia October tax free holiday runs from Friday 9th October through to Monday, October 12th, 2009. This is the time to replace those old appliance that significantly add to your energy bills each year with new environmentally energy efficient appliances.
Buying Energy Star & WaterSense appliances will result in lower utility bills, reduce your carbon footprint, and also give you an initial saving of 5% thanks to the Department of Taxation.
